Job Description
We are looking for a reliable and versatile General Building Maintenance Employee to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on our properties, both indoors and outdoors (Carrefour / Place Angrignon, Place de la Cité, Châteauguay). The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong general maintenance expertise. The selected individual will play a key role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and proper functioning of interior and exterior facilities.
Responsibilities
Interior Inspection and Maintenance

Perform general building maintenance (electrical, plumbing, ventilation, etc.)

Carry out minor plumbing work

Perform preventive maintenance and general repairs (carpentry, drywall, painting, ceramics, etc.)

Participate in renovation and improvement projects for common areas

Complete preventive maintenance follow-ups and document interventions
-
Inspect and repair equipment: sweepers, carpet cleaners, floor machines, mechanical brooms, vehicles and trucks, etc.

Inspect compactors and cardboard balers

Inspect sprinkler rooms and electrical rooms
Exterior Inspection and Maintenance

Maintenance and snow removal: roofs, atrium, gutters, etc.

Check signage across all buildings and parking lots

Maintain and replace outdoor furniture and installations

Exterior painting (furniture, doors, parking lot lines, etc.)

Maintain and repair irrigation systems
-
Perform preventive maintenance and general repairs (masonry, concrete, asphalt, etc.)

Perform any other related tasks
Required Skills and Qualifications

Knowledge of technical building maintenance (basic systems: electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation/HVAC)

Ability to work at heights

2 to 5 years of experience in general building maintenance (or equivalent training)

Manual dexterity, strong organizational skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and autonomy

Ability to quickly identify issues, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently

Comfortable communicating in French (mandatory) and English to serve clients in both languages

Comfortable interacting with tenants; positive, professional, and customer service oriented

Safety-conscious with strong attention to detail

Working Conditions

Permanent full-time position (35–40 hours/week)

$25.25/hour

Schedule: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday to Saturday, occasionally Friday 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
