Job summary:
We are looking for a reliable and versatile building maintenance worker to carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of our properties, both indoors and outdoors (Carrefour / Place Angrignon, Place de la Cité, Châteauguay). The ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate strong expertise in general maintenance. The selected candidate will play a key role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and proper functioning of indoor and outdoor facilities.
Responsibilities
Indoor inspection and maintenance
- Perform general building maintenance (electrical, plumbing, ventilation, etc.)
- Carry out light plumbing work
- Perform general preventive maintenance and repairs (carpentry, plastering, painting, tiling, etc.)
- Participate in renovation and improvement projects for common areas
- Complete preventive maintenance follow-ups and document interventions
- Inspect and repair equipment: sweepers, carpet cleaners, floor machines, mechanical sweepers, vehicles/trucks, etc.
- Inspect compactors and cardboard machines
- Inspect sprinkler rooms and electrical rooms
Outdoor inspection and maintenance
- Maintenance and snow removal: roofs, atriums, gutters, etc.
- Inspect signage across all buildings and parking areas
- Maintain and replace outdoor furniture and installations
- Exterior painting (furniture, doors, parking lines, etc.)
- Maintain and repair irrigation systems
- Perform preventive maintenance and general repairs (masonry, concrete, asphalt, etc.)
- Any other related tasks
Required skills
- Knowledge of building maintenance systems (basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation (HVAC)); must be able to work at heights
- 2 to 5 years of experience in general building maintenance (or equivalent training)
- Manual skills, organizational sense, strong problem-solving abilities, autonomy, ability to quickly identify issues and act, prioritize and manage time effectively
- Comfortable communicating in French (required) and English to serve our bilingual clientele
- Comfortable interacting with tenants; positive, professional, and customer-service oriented
- Safety-minded with attention to detail
- Punctual
Conditions
- Permanent full-time position: 35–40 hours/week, $27.25/hour
- Indoor/outdoor work
- Uniform and tools provided
- Schedule: Sunday to Thursday
- After probation period: health and dental insurance
